Mark is a licensed Investment Advisor Representative of Alliance Wealth Strategies (AWS), a Registered Investment Advisory firm owned by Brown Edwards. In addition, he is a Partner of Brown Edwards and has experience in virtually all service areas including audit, tax, consulting, and financial reporting and has over 25 years of experience in the audit and tax areas of employee benefit plans.
Mark’s areas of expertise include audits of defined contribution, defined benefit, employee stock ownership, and welfare benefit plans, including 403(b) plans; and audits subject to PCAOB standards.
Mark is a Certified Public Accountant and has 30 years of public accounting experience in a wide range of industry niches including employee benefit plans, manufacturing, non-profit organizations, healthcare providers, retailers, and various personal service related organizations. He is the Coordinator of Employee Benefit Plan Audit Services, Peer Review Services, and serves as the Leader of Brown Edwards’ Accounting and Auditing Practice, responsible for all aspects of quality control of this practice area. In addition, he serves as peer review Team Captain and member for several Top 100 public accounting firms in the country, including two in the Top 20.
Mark graduated in 1986 from Florida State University with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants the Institute of Management Accountants and carries a Series 65 investment license.
